1. Update Question Text Beginner

Pattern: Update Q{number} question text to "{new text}". 
Update Q9 question text to "Please rate your level of agreement."

2. Combine Questions into Matrix Intermediate

Pattern: Combine Q{start}-Q{end} into a single matrix question. 
Combine Q10-Q15 into a single matrix question and use the question text as statements.

3. Add New Question After Beginner

Pattern: Add new question Q{number}_{suffix} "{text}" as {type} after Q{number}.

🔄 Matrix Operations

1.1 Combine Questions into Matrix Intermediate

Pattern: Combine Q{start}-Q{end} into a single matrix question. 
Combine Q10-Q15 into a single matrix question and use the question text as statements.
1) Combine Q25-Q32 into one matrix question
2) Use "Please rate your agreement" as the question text
3) Current question texts become the statements

1.2 Group by Section Intermediate

Pattern: Group all questions in [section name] as one matrix. 
Group all Likert scale questions in the "Customer Satisfaction" section as one matrix question. Use the section header as the question text.
1) Combine all questions in the Barriers block (Q246-Q257) as one matrix
2) Combine all questions in the Decision Making block (Q185-Q193) as one matrix

1.3 Convert Options to Matrix Advanced

Pattern: Question has statements mixed in options - restructure as matrix. 
Q15 is a matrix question. The options include statements and scale points.
Convert to proper matrix:
- Options starting with "Offer" are statements
- Rest are scale points

1.4 Fix Matrix Structure Beginner

Pattern: Ensure statements appear before scale points. 
For all matrix questions, ensure statements are listed first, followed by scale points.

✏️ Update Question Text

2.1 Single Question Update Beginner

Pattern: Update Q{number} question text to "{new text}". 
Update Q9 question text to "Please rate your level of agreement."
Update Q3 question text to "Age" and Q4 question text to "Gender".

2.2 Multiple Questions Update Beginner

Pattern: Update multiple questions with specific text. 
1) Update Q9, Q12, Q15 question text to "Please rate your level of agreement"
2) Update Q20 question text to "How satisfied are you with the following?"

2.3 Use Section Header as Question Text Intermediate

Pattern: For matrix questions, use section/block name. 
Use the block name as the question text for all matrix questions in this section.

3.1 Add After Specific Question Beginner

Pattern: Add new question Q{number}_{suffix} "{text}" as {type} after Q{number}. 
Add new question Q10_1 "If yes, which platform(s)?" as Essay question type after Q10.
1) Add new question Q13_1 "If yes, please briefly describe" as Essay after Q13
2) Add new question Q15_1 "Please explain your rating" as Essay after Q15

3.2 Add Essay for Each Matrix Statement Advanced

Pattern: Create follow-up essays for matrix statements. 
After Q4, create open-end Essay questions for each statement in Q4.
Use "Please explain: [statement text]" as question text.

3.3 Add at Specific Position Intermediate

Pattern: Add question before/after with sequence update. 
Add new question before Q9 with text "Overall satisfaction" as Single Answer.
Update all subsequent question IDs sequentially.

4.1 Remove Single Question Beginner

Pattern: Remove Q{number}. 
Remove Q46.

Pattern: Remove specific text/phrase from question. 
Remove "Display only apps selected in Q3" from Q6 answer options.

🔀 Convert Question Types

5.1 Convert to Matrix Intermediate

Pattern: Convert Q{number} to Matrix with {scales} as scale points. 
Convert Q4 to Matrix with 0, 50, and 100 as scale points.
Convert Q5 to Matrix question with "Used myself", "Used with students", and "Both" as scales.

5.2 Convert to Single/Multiple Answer Beginner

Pattern: Convert Q{number} to {Single Answer|Multiple Answer}. 
Convert Q26, Q46, and Q64 to Single Answer.
Convert Q6 to Single Answer question type.

📊 Scales & Options Management

6.1 Fill Missing Scale Points Intermediate

Pattern: Make scale industry standard for Q{number}. 
Q15 scale points include only 2 options. Fill missing scale points to make it industry standard 5-point Likert scale.

6.2 Update Scale Labels Beginner

Pattern: Update Q{number} scales with specific labels. 
Update Q19 scales to:
1 – Never
2 – Rarely
3 – Occasionally
4 – Sometimes
5 – Frequently

6.3 Add "Other" Option Beginner

Pattern: Add additional option to question. 
Add "I don't know" as the last option in Q6.

🔗 Piping & Display Logic

7.1 Populate from Previous Question Intermediate

Pattern: Options should populate from Q{number}. 
Q6 answer options should populate all options selected in Q3.
Q15 answer options should display only options selected in Q14, excluding "None of the above".

7.2 Populate with Exclusions Advanced

Pattern: Populate from Q{number} excluding {items}. 
Q7 answer options should populate from Q6, excluding "WhatsApp" and "Dialpad".

🎨 HTML Formatting & Line Breaks

11.1 Add Line Breaks Beginner

Pattern: Add line breaks in question text for readability. 
Add line breaks <br> wherever necessary in Q1 and INTRO1 to make the text visually good to read.
Add line breaks <br> throughout the survey in question text wherever necessary for better readability.

11.2 Add Line Breaks at Specific Points Beginner

Pattern: Insert breaks at specific locations. 
Add line break after "is responsible for looking after your information." in the Data Handling section.

↕️ Reordering Questions

9.1 Move Question Position Intermediate

Pattern: Move Q{number} before/after Q{number}. 
Move Q20 to appear after Q15. Update question IDs sequentially.
1) Move Q8 before Q5
2) Update all question IDs to maintain sequence

10.1 Complex Restructuring Advanced

Pattern: Multiple operations in sequence. 
1) Combine Q10-Q23 into one matrix question
2) Add essay question Q23_1 "Please explain" after the matrix
3) Update Q24 question text to "Demographics"
4) Remove Q30
5) Update all question IDs sequentially

10.2 Section-by-Section Updates Advanced

Pattern: Apply same operation across multiple sections. 
1) Combine questions Q12-Q18 in "Satisfaction" section as one matrix
2) Combine questions Q25-Q32 in "Likelihood" section as one matrix
3) Combine questions Q40-Q48 in "Barriers" section as one matrix
4) Use section headers as matrix question text for each

✅ DO:

  • Be specific with question numbers (Q9, Q10-Q15)
  • Use standard action verbs (Update, Add, Remove, Combine, Convert)
  • Number steps when multiple actions needed
  • Specify question types (Matrix, Single Answer, Essay, Multiple Answer)
  • Reference exact text in quotes for updates
❌ DON'T:
  • Use vague references ("the first question", "that matrix")
  • Mix different numbering styles in one prompt
  • Skip question ID updates when reordering
  • Assume AI knows context without question numbers

Common Combinations

Matrix Grouping + Text Update:

1) Combine Q15-Q22 into one matrix question
2) Use "Please rate the following features" as question text
3) Current question texts become statements

Convert + Add:

1) Convert Q6 to Single Answer
2) Add essay question Q6_1 "Please describe briefly" after Q6

Remove + Reorder:

1) Remove Q10
2) Move Q11 to Q10 position
