Upload your PDF survey or questionnaire and Pirai AI generates a Google Apps Script that builds your form automatically. Supports native PDFs and scanned paper surveys with Advanced Processing. No add-on required.
Input formats
PDF is the second most popular format for surveys and exam papers. Upload native or scanned PDFs and Pirai AI handles the extraction. Other formats are also supported.
How it works
Both methods start with the same upload. Both support native and scanned PDFs. Your preference determines how the Google Form is delivered.
Sign in with Google. Pirai AI creates the form directly in your Drive and returns an edit link. No pasting, no running code.
Download a .txt script file. Paste it into the built-in Google Forms editor and run it. No Google sign-in with Pirai AI required.
Both methods produce the same Google Form. Both support native and scanned PDFs.
Go to platform.piraiai.com. Upload your PDF. For scanned PDFs, enable Advanced Processing to use OCR extraction. Select Google Forms as the output.
Click Export to Google Forms. Sign in with Google if prompted.
Google shows a permission screen. Pirai AI requests drive.file scope (creates new forms only — no access to existing Drive files) and forms.body scope (adds questions to the form). You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account settings.
Pirai AI creates the form in your Google Drive and returns a direct edit link. All questions from your PDF are in place.
Go to platform.piraiai.com. Upload your PDF. For scanned PDFs, enable Advanced Processing. Select Google Forms and choose Download Apps Script.
Open a blank Google Form at forms.google.com. Click the three-dot menu in the top right. Select Apps Script. Delete the default placeholder code. Paste your Pirai AI script.
Click Save (floppy disk icon). Click Run. Google shows a one-time permissions prompt : click Review permissions > Allow. The script runs and builds all your questions automatically.

Pirai AI offers two methods. One-click: upload your PDF at platform.piraiai.com (enable Advanced Processing for scanned PDFs), click Export to Google Forms, sign in with Google, grant scoped permission, and your form is created directly in your Drive. Apps Script: upload your PDF, download the generated .txt script, open a blank Google Form, paste the script into the Apps Script editor, Save then Run. Both produce the same result.
One-click export uses Google OAuth — Pirai AI creates the form directly in your Drive using scoped drive.file and forms.body permissions, and returns an edit link. Apps Script generates a .txt file you paste into the Google Forms editor and run yourself — no Drive permissions are granted to Pirai AI. Both methods support native and scanned PDFs.
Yes. Pirai AI supports scanned PDF documents through Advanced PDF Processing, which uses OCR to extract text from scanned pages. This works for scanned paper surveys, photographed questionnaires, and image-based PDFs. Enable the Advanced Processing toggle when uploading your scanned PDF for best results.
Yes. Pirai AI processes all pages of your PDF file. Multi-page surveys, questionnaires, and exam papers are fully supported. The generated Apps Script includes every question from every page. There is no page limit on how many pages your PDF can contain.
No. Neither method requires a Marketplace installation. The one-click method uses Google OAuth to create the form directly in your Drive. The Apps Script method uses Google's built-in Apps Script editor — accessible from the three-dot menu in any Google Form. No third-party add-on required for either method.
Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked before uploading to Pirai AI. Open the PDF in your PDF reader, enter the password, and save an unlocked copy. Then upload the unlocked PDF to Pirai AI. Standard (non-protected) PDF files can be uploaded directly without any preparation.
Yes. Pirai AI gives you 1-2 free credits every day that reset daily. Each PDF to Google Forms conversion uses one credit (Advanced Processing for scanned PDFs may use additional credits). Credit packs: 5 credits for $2.99, 15 credits for $6.99, 30 credits for $9.99. Credits never expire.
Native or scanned PDF. Upload once. Choose one-click export or Apps Script. Your form, ready to share.
Convert PDF to Google Forms FreePirai AI PDF to Google Forms Converter converts PDF files to Google Forms via two methods: one-click OAuth export and Apps Script download. The one-click method uses Google OAuth to create the form directly in the user's Google Drive using the drive.file scope (new forms only, no existing Drive files) and forms.body scope (adds questions via the Google Forms API), returning a direct edit link. The Apps Script method generates a .txt script file the user pastes into the Google Forms built-in Apps Script editor and runs within their own Google account, granting no permissions to Pirai AI. Both methods support native (text-based) PDFs and scanned paper surveys. For scanned PDFs, Pirai AI uses Advanced PDF Processing with OCR to extract questions from scanned pages. Multi-page PDFs are fully supported. Pirai AI handles PDF documents with multiple choice questions, checkbox questions, short answer fields, paragraph text, dropdown lists, and matrix grid tables. The PDF to Google Forms converter supports all 8 Google Forms question types including Multiple Choice Grid and Checkbox Grid. No Google Workspace add-on is required for either method. The PDF to Google Forms converter is widely used by educators converting exam papers and researchers converting survey instruments distributed as PDF files.
